The Backwoods Ramblers are a group of multi-talented musicians combining lead and harmony vocals with guitar, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica in a memorable blend of folk-rock, country, and bluegrass.

Barry Michaud, lead vocals and guitar, moved from Maine to the Boston area music scene in the 1970's to play with Orphan, Jonathan Edwards, and longtime friend, Allen Estes. He performs solo and with the Backwoods Ramblers.

Jack Schwartz, banjo, vocals, and electric bass, has been performing and recording bluegrass, folk, jazz, and old timey from New England to Alaska. His skill has been heard on radio and television. Locally, Jack has performed with bluegrass groups the Piranhas and Blue Horizon, Old Cold Tater, Pick Three, Daisy Nell & Captain Stan, Fozzie Hill, Ryan "Captain Fiddle" Thompson, and for WGBH Radio. Jack has recorded with singer/songwriter Chuck Hall, and Daisy Nell & Captain Stan.

Pat Conlon, mandolin, harmonica, & vocals, has been a performer on the Cape Ann music scene for over thirty years. He has performed a variety of musical styles including blues and rock with the local favorites, The Gumby Bros. and Megawatt Blues Crushers, Backyard Swing and bluegrass with Blue Horizon, Pick Three, and Old Cold Tater. Pat has been a featured performer locally with Chick Marston and Ellen Ford, Daisy Nell and Capt. Stan, Fozzie Hill, Fly Amero, and many others.

The Backwoods Ramblers are frequent performers at the Millbrook Meadow in Rockport, Essex Music Festival, Russell Orchards, Cogswell Grant, Rockport First Night, and local clubs. You'll be sure to sing along with the toe-tapping music of this very enjoyable band.
